Recognized in the international world of fly fishing, it is said to be one of the best streams of the world for dry fly fishing.
Running among meadows, canyons, monkey puzzle trees and steppe with amazing willow galleries, the river starts at the Lanín National Park, at the foot of the majestic Lanín Volcano. About 50 kms from the boca, waters flow into the Aluminé river.
Many public accesses let fishermen reach the stream in the upper & lower sections, while the middle area, about 20 kms run across an estancia where the river has been kept in better conditions for its owners have encouraged catch & release for more than 30 years ago.
The famous San Huberto Lodge is located in this section, which gardens join the wild vegetation of the river side, just at a stone-throw distance.
San Huberto is considered one of the most distinguished lodges in the area, offering a perfect mix of “home-like” atmosphere and elegance. The kitchen is superb, mostly based on organic and self production goods from the estancia, as well as from the incredible vegetable garden, next door.
I may say the “duetto” San Huberto – Malleo means a guaranty for best dry fly fishing and great comfort. I´m sure you´ll desire to come back, for many reasons and for many times.
