"Fly fishing” in the world may be placed as a synonym of Chimehuin. This fantastic river is a “not to miss” point of any fishing trip to northern Patagonia. The Boca of the Chimehuin has been immortalized by Joe Brook and many others for its enigmatic beauty and fine fishing. This top-of-the-chart river flows by 55 kms giving such a variety of holes that it is possible to spend a whole season not even discovering all of them.
The city of Junín de los Andes is located at the right banks of the Chimehuin river, half way of its course, a small town which has experienced an important growth since the 2000´s, although it has kept its usual easiness and peace as ever before. People are friendly and handy, and this is my town, too !!!!
There are many options for lodging when planning to include the Chimehuin in one´s itinerary, but let me suggest you trying the Spring Creek Lodge. Located inside the beautiful San Cabao Valley, Spring Creek enjoys a unique & wide view of the Lanín Volcano, as well as proximity to the main river, distant of any bungalow at not more than 200 mts.
Besides, owners have got advantage of a natural spring creek (from which the lodge gets is name) building three lagoons inside its property, carefully designed for keeping encrypted in natural environment. More, Spring Creek is only 8 kms far from town, offering at same time solitude & social contact with locals, as well as 14 kms from the Boca… Could we ask for more?
Services at Spring Creek Lodge are carefully organized and equipment well maintained and improved every day for best performance in the area.
